Public Events

Today,my mother and I went to Xuanwu Lake to look at Bonsai Exhibition. Although it rained, there are still a lot of people look at the exhibition. Some people kept taking pictures with a camera, some people have been appreciated, some people have been amazing about the bonsai.

There are many varieties of bonsai,they came from 109 cities nationwide, there are as many as 972 pots. There have some bonsai trees,many different various types of pine and cypress, elm, plum, etc. The branches vigorous seems like dead.However,the branches in the tree we can see the new leaves there. There are some bonsai trees about fruit,there are pomegranate tree, Malus trees, and orange trees.There are some varieties of stone bonsai landscape,we can see on that rock there is a small tree with the mountains,the levels of different mountains,and the stream to with the beautiful hill,there is a feeling of living in fairyland.

All the best exhibition of bonsai are sent here, and some of them for decades, even centuries.So that visitors enjoyed it,I also do not want to leave there.

Religious Service

On April.28th,Joyce,Doris,Iris and I went to Jiming Temple togetherthe temple was very quiet,there was no one speak loudly there. We saw someone burning incense and pray.All the things here gave us sense of the sacred.

There was one answer made me impressed.This question I thought on the road for a long time,but the Master’s answer made me can suddenly understand their thoughts. We asked the master“The Buddha is not in favor of killing, But for those people who always intentional kill others.Shouldn’t they be allowed to kill?”The Master said:“The people who breach of national laws should be punished by law,but not which people are going to kill him. The Buddha are not allowed his disciples to kill,this said for their own behavior,but not said the national laws have something wrong with sanctions to murderers. The Buddha always said‘Good people have good return,bad people have bad return,murders must pay with one's life.’ This shows that Buddhism does not violate the law in the world, but to recognize the world of law…”

Before leaving, we would like to take a photograph with the Master, but he said he had to ignore those thing, so we just give up this Request. But he said if we want to find him to talk about something about the Buddhism or our troublr, he will welcome us.If all the people have this thought.Then, people will be happy and peace to each other, social will be stability and unity, the state will be prosper, we will have a peaceful and happy world.This is the Buddhist world to achieve. I am really happy for this trip, it answered a lot of questions I can not understand.

Go to a performance

On December 29th,our school have a wonderful performance named “The Taming of The Shrew”.This performance by grade 10,11,12 performanced together. Regardless of grade 10 grade 11 or grade 12, all the people have very good acting.Teachers,our schoolmates and parents all came here and looked the perfoumance,because of their support, the performance also has been a great success.

This drama was talking about the main character Katharina,who is an intelligent,but grumpy shrew,unwillingly married a nobleman,Petruchio.Afterwards,Petruchio “tamed”his wife into an obedient and gentle woman.The performance divided into nine parts.First part was Introduction that told us a drunk man Sly has a dream in an inn.In his dream,he meets a lord and his pages that intend to play a trick on him.The scene 1 described in padua,Italy,Baptista is looking for a husband for Kate,the shrew.Gremio and Hortensin are fightened of Katharina,but lucentio falls in love with Kate’s sister Bianca and he plans to pretend to be her teacher. Scene 2,3 and 4 told a story about Hortensio introduces Kate to Petruchio,then he go to Kate’s house.He finally meets her,but Kate hates him from the first time. Everyone thinks they won’t have a happy ending.Scene 5,6 and 7 was when Petruchio and Kate returns home.He uses all his talents to tame the shrew.Then Kate has transformed into an obedient wife.The last part was epilogue,Sly wakes up and the hostess is interested in the story of his drean“The Taming of The Shrew”.

From the show, we can see that the actors are acting very well. No one in the middle of the back line spoke the wrong lines, Or timid, stage fright.I think this is good for their future career.If I have chance,I really want to try.

On April.30th,I finish my Volunteer work in Nanjing Political College library with Nancy and Joyce.Because we spent every week of Sundays, for five weeks we has finally completed the volunteer work.I am very excited about that.

I remember at the first time we went to the Nanjing Political College library,the librarian,Ms Yang took us to the reading room, and then she told us some attentions about this place.We should keep quiet in the library and can not speak loudly or make some big noise.After enter the library we must regulate the cell phone to vibration state.In the library we should pay attention to public health, can not spitting,throwing confetti or peels,also,we can not eat in the library.If people who violations of these provisions, we have to stop and criticism them. Then Ms Yang said we can start our work now.

Our work is help them to register and put back the book of the correct location.In the beginning I think this is a very difficult work, because it is very trouble. We need to put the book in accordance with different types of shelves, because we did not very familiar with the location of the shelves,so often we could not finish our work on time.Another work is even more trouble.If someone wanted to look for the book, he must be inquire it from the computer,the library is so big, and some people often put the book of incorrect location, so we need to find where the book was.

However, after two weeks.We are very familiar with the location of the shelves. The military library is very quiet, And not the same as other library.All the people are very particular about manners, we never see some peole eat or speak loudly inside.

The event I learned how to politely deal with civilized people, in public, what language to use.I hope next time I can go there again.

Arts & Design (go to an Exhibition with my friends)

On Feb 28,my friends and I went to Nanjing Museum.We chose this museum because Nanjing Museum has more than 400000 types of collections, there is the earliest Paleolithic collections, the latest are now, including stone implements, pottery, jade, bronze ware, porcelain, calligraphy, painting, embroidery, bamboo and ivory carving, folk and contemporary works of art and so on, and have some country level artifact smore than 1062 .The archaeological excavations goods of high historical, artistic and scientific value. There is one of 10 heritage collections for the national treasure.
We went to the Ancient Chinese Lacquer Exhibition. I saw a cow pulled a carriage,the cow's body are gray,this artework were make not very meticulous, but when we first saw, it we will know this ancient must made by China,because it has Ancient Chinese freehand brushwork.Beside this artwork, there is a person pulled a cow, the cow followed by carriage, but this work was more exquisite than the other one, you can see the lines on the carriage's curtains, also it has more patterns on the wheels, I think because of the time, producer were perfect its flaws.

Then we moved to the Jiangnan Fairview Museum.Rhododendrons were Nanjing specialty.Rhododendron production are currently the only Chinese can not be replaced by machines Weaving Process, the two people operations each day with only can weaved 5-6 cm. So, it was not only beauty, but also the national cultural heritage of living fossils for thousands of years .We saw an enormous textile machine there,and there were a lot of embroidery,too.

At here, we also saw some Wuweishan's sculptures.I want to went here naxt time!
