On Feb 28,my friends and I went to Nanjing Museum.We chose this museum because Nanjing Museum has more than 400000 types of collections, there is the earliest Paleolithic collections, the latest are now, including stone implements, pottery, jade, bronze ware, porcelain, calligraphy, painting, embroidery, bamboo and ivory carving, folk and contemporary works of art and so on, and have some country level artifact smore than 1062 .The archaeological excavations goods of high historical, artistic and scientific value. There is one of 10 heritage collections for the national treasure.
We went to the Ancient Chinese Lacquer Exhibition. I saw a cow pulled a carriage,the cow's body are gray,this artework were make not very meticulous, but when we first saw, it we will know this ancient must made by China,because it has Ancient Chinese freehand brushwork.Beside this artwork, there is a person pulled a cow, the cow followed by carriage, but this work was more exquisite than the other one, you can see the lines on the carriage's curtains, also it has more patterns on the wheels, I think because of the time, producer were perfect its flaws.

Then we moved to the Jiangnan Fairview Museum.Rhododendrons were Nanjing specialty.Rhododendron production are currently the only Chinese can not be replaced by machines Weaving Process, the two people operations each day with only can weaved 5-6 cm. So, it was not only beauty, but also the national cultural heritage of living fossils for thousands of years .We saw an enormous textile machine there,and there were a lot of embroidery,too.

At here, we also saw some Wuweishan's sculptures.I want to went here naxt time!

Cultural Awareness with my friends.

On Dec.17,I and some GCA friends went to a Italian Restaurant called "Bella Napoli."This is a very westernized restaurants, all the chefs areItalian people. May be customary for people of Asian flavors, the food here are more general, but when we arrived here we saw a lot of foreign customers. I think they really love this restaurant. Environment there was very gorgeous, all the waiter had a warm smile.
I have collected some of the names of these food from the menu.First we chose the antipasti and insalate.When I saw the menu,I choose the a food made by typical neapolitan bruschetta with Oregano\Garlic\Tomato\Basil\Anchovies and Extravergin Olive Oil.It called"Bruschetta-Bella Napoli"
Then we chose the Pasta,on the menu there are a lot of kinds of Pasta:Scinue,Siciliana,Bologuese,Carbonara,Pesto Genovese,Carciofinie Salsiccia with tamato sauce,Amatriciana,puttanesca and pomodoroe basilico.The waiter told us we can choose a pasta with our favourte sauce spaghetti,linguine,farfalle,pene,fusilli.I chose the Pasta named "Puttanesca",it made by anchoives,cappers and black olives and tomato sauce.
Last we choose the main courses.I chose the "Polloal forno con rosmarinoe timo",one of the food made by poasted apring chicken with rosemary and thyme.It looked very delicious and smelt good.
At Bella Napoli you will find the real Vesuvian atmosphere where you might think you are indeed in Italy.

For my winter holiday’s homework. But also for more social contacts, improve my social capabilities, in the January 23 to February 1 this time, I went to Zhongshan East Road, No. 311-1 Nanjing Donggong restaurant l to make a 10-day volunteers.Two hours a day working hours made me so tired, but I was more pleased. During this period, I learned how to get along together with staff here,I know work in cooperation is most important thing, every day have a smile greeted the staff and guests can make a better change of mood.
January 23, 10:00 AM .I arrived at the Donggong restaurant, the restaurant's manager told me that my job is transfer food, he let me for a white overalls, and told me some simple rules. Then I entered the Restaurant 206 rooms. There is also has an attendant here, she said I could call her Ms.Huang. Ms.Huang told me that this restaurant open for business from 11:00, our work is only sent to the plates to the guests, and then tell them the names of dishes.Or Add drinks to the guests, so as long as careful with this. Do not let plates broken or cups basic so have no problem.Ms.Huang said, when you add the drinks, either hot or cold drink and pour it into the two-thirds of the cup is enough, This will become even more beautiful. Every dish have to remember to tell guests the name of dish, so that they can know what they eat. And remenber every dish must let the masters of the main table to eat first.s This seems more polite; If have soup,we must use the small bowl in accordance with sub-equal to the guests.Ms.Huang accountable this after the restaurant has been open for business.
Today we habe eight guests, Ms.Huang Let me add drink for them first, I always add more or make drink to splashing out, perhaps not in the habit of beginning is also the reason why. First they chat over a period of time ,then they called we serve, we end eight cold dishes, Ms.Huang and I end the dishes for them, in the beginning my hands tremble a little bit,I feel a little nervous and always pay attention to the foot, so I am a bit slow, I told the guests that I just come her to practice first day.If I have some problem that they need forgiven, they are able to understand me, this let me moved and let me work more seriously. And then we end hot dishes, I often forget the names of dishes, obviously I remembered them, but I can not remember when I end the dish,I just stood there and do not know how to do, Ms.Huang always helped me with a smile, the guests also do not care.Finally we end the staple food, the staple food is noodles, noodles need to put in the bowl to the guests,but I always put them out.But Ms.Huang helped me solve this problem, I really thank her very much. Recognition of guests before they left, and said to me that I am pretty good. After work, managers and Ms.Huang are quite satisfactory to me, I’ll give myself 7.5 point. the end of today’s work, the manager told me that tomorrow I can arrive at 10:30, because something happens he tell to me today, but tomorrow will be not. When I left the hotel the time has more than 13 o'clock.
This internship lasted for 10 days, my volunteer work is over,before leaving there,managers and Ms.Huang told me they are very welcome I come here when summer holiday (although during this period I has been broken one plates and two cups).
The summary of my internship are: To do anything to be taken seriously and try our best. Has an error does not matter, timely corrective action be just fine. And we shoud polite to everyone. From this practice, I also found a friendly is so important to us. I believe I will be doing next time better.

In September Joyce and I went to Nanjing DJ Dancing Club to learn hip-hop, When we arrived there, after the teacher's introduction we decided to learn New Jazz.

During the first practice ,Ms.Dong told us Jazz is a type of music first developed by African Americans around the first decade of the 20th century that has an identifiable history and distinct stylistic evolution. Jazz grew up alongside the blues and popular music, and all these genres overlap in many ways. Most early jazz was played in small dance bands or by solo pianists. Besides ragtime and marches, the repertoire included all kinds of popular dance music and blues. The bands typically played at picnics, weddings, parades, and funerals.There are many kind of jazz: for example, street, jazz, reggae, power jazz , morden jazz, sexy jazz, New jazz, etc. We wanted to learn New jazz. New jazz in the early days from New York by the evolution of ballet , New jazz ballet created a fusion of hip-hop Hip-Hop charm, in fact, New jazz haracterized jazz plus hip-hop,

At first we could not feel relax when we dance some basic action.Ms Dong said maybe because we didn't find feel.She said we should relax our body,then we can do it,no one will laugh at us.Then we try her idea.Right,we can do it better than before.After 10 courses,we have significant progress, also many exercise we will not feel it difficult to do.

New Jazz's features is the extension of the body. New jazz every action has a fixed angle with the pendulum method New Jazz when jumping for the hand movements when there will be an unlimited extension of the feeling, this feeling is like someone is pulling your hand.

I like it.

I'm a member of TV Club,during this time ,we watched a lot of movie. They are "Prison Break""the chronicles of Narnia"and"The simpson family"

Prison Break is an American serial drama television series created by Paul Scheuring, which premiered on the Fox Broadcasting Company on August 29, 2005. The series revolves around two brothers; one who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and the other, a genius, who devises an elaborate plan to help him escape prison.

The Chronicles of Narnia present the adventures of children who play central roles in the unfolding history of the fictional realm of Narnia, a place where animals talk, magic is common, and good battles evil. Each of the books (with the exception of The Horse and His Boy) features as its protagonists children from our world who are magically transported to Narnia, where they are called upon to help the Lion Aslan handle a crisis in the world of Narnia.

The Simpson family is a family of fictional characters featured in the animated television series The Simpsons. The Simpson nuclear family consists of the married couple Homer and Marge and their three children Bart, Lisa and Maggie. They live at 742 Evergreen Terrace in the fictional town of Springfield, USA.Alongside the five main family members, there are a number of other major and minor characters in their family. The most commonly recurring characters are Homer's father Abraham Simpson; Marge's sisters Patty and Selma Bouvier; and the family's two pets, Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II. Other family members include Homer's mother Mona Simpson, Homer's "Vegas wife" Amber, Marge's mother Jacqueline Bouvier, and a whole range of minor relatives.It is so fun!

we also watched Happy Trash Movie during that time.Tv club is intersting.It can help us know a lot of famous movies and actors.I like it.

Art ＆Design (with Ms. Hadley's class)

On the 4th of December, we went to the Nanjing University Exhibition with Ms. Hadley. We visited the Wu Weishan Cultural Figures Sculpture Gallery of Nanjing Museum, and we learn more about the art and chinese culture here.

The title of the exhibition is "Wu Weishan Cultural Figures Sculpture Gallery of Nanjing Museum". All of the sculptures were made by him. Now because"sleeping baby"he is a famous artist in the world.It finished in 1998 and the size of the artwork is 11cm x 7cm x 81 cm, a small sculpture of bronze. Of course, the color of the artwork is bronze. It feels like ice-cold because of the material and the line is smooth, and the neck in the rough state.The child had fallen asleep with its mouth opened. Mr.Wu couldn't wait any more and finished this artwork immediately because the baby has a lovely face that attractive him extremely . Then,the famous Artwork"sleeping baby"was born.
His works I also like "Laozi exit" This sculpture is 115 × 89cm and make by copper.Laozi is a famous people in the world.According to some historical information and folklore, Laozi exit in Gansu and other places attendance, finally in Lintao of Gansu Province,he is 'soaring'(means fly to the sky...)The sculpture is described Laozi rode a cow, walking slowly forward.

We are so luckly because before we left,we met Mr wu,he taken some photos with us,also he and our teachers exchange of arts and culture,I think Mr wu and his famous artworks will let many people do not forget this great artist.

Cutural about Switzerland.

On Dec .12th, I and some of my classmates and the student’s form Grade 12 went to a Swiss restaurant .The restaurant's name is Bebbis Restaurant.I have collected some of the names of these food from the menu.Cheese fondue,Banana Boat,West cold steak,Bebbis snacks plate and Alps roesti.

Before coming here, some people told me Swiss restaurant is a very good restaurant , When the students in Grade 12 asked us where we want to eat,I chose this restaurants. Most people in our group choose this restaurant .The restaurant gave me the very good impression, they have very thoughtful manner, the layout of the restaurant is good.There are some paintings hanging andSwiss traditional pictures or decorations in the wall.I think that is culture of Switzerland .

I sat beside Candy.The first dish is soup. The soup is added some butter, the taste is very light.The next dish is chocolate fondue. The waiters and waitresses gave us a little bread eat with the dip .It tastes a little strange,Moovie(12-E student) told us maybe we can't get used to the Swiss food.The third dish is pizza. Pizza in this restaurant is same as other restaurant.I didn't eat more.The last food is ice-cream. There were 3 types of ice-cream(Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ) in the plate.

I like this restaurant.I will recommend people to go to the restaurant.
